UTI URINARY TRACT INFECTION

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in any part of your urinary system — your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Most infections are in the lower urinary tract, which includes the bladder and the urethra.

Women are at greater risk of developing urinary tract infections. If limited to the bladder, it can be painful, but if treated can avoid more serious complications if the UTI spreads to the kidneys.

Dr Karen Thampoe at West Houston Internal Medicine can treat urinary tract infections with antibiotics, but can also help diagnose other conditions and prescribe steps to reduce your chances of getting a UTI.

DON'T MISS APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR LOW T or HOUSTON ADHD DOCTOR

Don’t let long hours at work prevent you from getting the care that you deserve. Individuals with ADHD often experience difficulties in maintaining focus, regulating impulsive actions (potentially acting without considering the consequences), or exhibiting excessive activity levels. While ADHD cannot be cured, effective management strategies can be employed, and some symptoms may lessen as the individual grows older. Visit CDC for more information.
