About the Physicians

About Dr. Karen Thampoe

dr-karen-thampoe2Dr. Karen Thampoe grew up in Santa Barbara, California. After finishing her degree in Biology at the University of California in Santa Barbara, she then completed her Doctorate of Medicine at St. Georges University School of Medicine. She then pursued and completed her Internship training at Long Island College Hospital in New York, and Residency training focusing on geriatric care at Momonidies Medical Center.

Dr. Thampoe was in private practice for two years in East Texas. She then decided to move to Austin, where she began working as a Hospitalist physician with Hospitalist internist of Austin in Saint Davis Health Care System, where she admitted and managed patients full time in a hospital setting.

In Austin, she also worked in twelve nursing homes, made house calls and visited assistant living facilities.  Before the end of 2007, she decided to join Visiting Physician Association, where she can fully devote her time to taking care of those who are sick and in need of excellent medical care.

In July, 2008, Dr. Thampoe decided to move with her family to Katy, TX, where she opened her own private practice, near Christus Saint Catherine Hospital. Dr. Thampoe enjoy art of painting, gourmet cooking and of course, spending time with her family.

Dr-Basti-Thampoe2After finishing his degree in electric engineering at the Manhattan College, New York, He then completed his Doctorate of Medicine at St. Georges University School of Medicine. He then pursued and completed his Internship training at Long Island College Hospital in New York, and Residency training focusing on geriatric care at Maimonides Medical Center.

Before the end of 2007, he decided to join Visiting Physician Association, where he can fully devote his time to taking care of those who are sick and in need of excellent medical care.  In July, 2008, Dr. Thampoe decided to move with his family to Katy, TX, where he opened his own private practice.  He enjoyed ball room dancing and playing basketball with his three sons.
